Neolithic grave found with adult and child buried together

Archaeologists in Serbia has discovered a 7,000-year-old burial containing an unusal double-grave of an adult and child.

The grave contains well-preserved skeletons of a child and an adult, buried in a curled position and placed on top of each other, archaeologist Radivoje Arsic said.

‘It is unusual because the double grave is within the village – they emptied a mud hut and used it as a burial site,’ he said.

The grave and tools from the village, part of the so-called Starcevo culture, provide invaluable insight into the life of early farmers, Arsic said.
