Published on August 5th, 2009 | by Admin

Construction workers unearthed an old human skull during highway construction in northern Fond du Lac County.

Detective Charles Sosinski performed a preliminary investigation of the remains before handing it over to the Wisconsin Historical Society and its Burial Sites Preservation Board.

An archeologist from Milwaukee will study the skull to determine if it is a Native American. Until the determination is made, the Sheriff’s Department is treating the case as a homicide, said Flood.
