1,000 British-era cannonballs found in India

Published on August 19th, 2009 | by Admin

More than a thousand cannonballs dating back to the era of British rule have been found at a school in India.

The balls, of various sizes, weighed between three and 26lbs each. Most of the small ones were reportedly loaded with gunpowder, but the larger ones were empty.

The ammunition was found during preparation work for a new building for the primary section of Government Boys’ High, Trishul Park, in Secunderabad.
