Lord Baden Powell’s hat up for auction

Here is a treat for the former scouts out there: Robert Baden Powell’s hate is set to hit the auction block.

He said Mr Mickleburgh bought Lord Baden Powell’s hat when it was sold along with other items from Gilwell Park scout training centre in north London.

“Although we all wore scout hats when we were younger, this one is different,” said Mr Butler.

“It is very well constructed and heavier than normal.”

Lord Baden Powell went to Rose Hill School in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and Charterhouse School in Godalming, Surrey.

He founded the Scout Movement in the early 1900s after returning from service overseas with the British Army.
