13th century jewellery and coins found in India

A treasure trove of 13th century jewellery and 19th century coins have been found in India.

The Andhra Pradesh Archaeology and Museums unwrapped 13th century gold ear studs, rings, armbands and silverware from an engineering college construction site at Ghatkesar in Ranga Reddy District on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Elsewhere in Mahbubnagar District a total of 240 silver coins dating back to the 19th century Nizam’s period were also found. Photos: P.V. Sivakumar
