DVD Giveaway – Instant Expert: The French Revolution

Published on October 1st, 2010 | by Admin

A&E Home Entertainment has graciously provided me with some really cool DVDs to give away to readers of A Blog About History, which I will be doing so over the coming months. The first title is Instant Expert: The French Revolution:

A dethroned king, a flamboyant queen, the storming of a fortress prison and an infamous bloodbath known as the Reign of Terror the story of the French Revolution is an epic tale of political rebellion and economic upheaval. From the grandeur of Versailles and the marriage of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, to the disintegration of the revolution nearly a decade later, The French Revolution details this pivotal period in European history, focusing on how the revolution shook the very foundations of monarchy, destroyed the last vestiges of feudalism, and planted the seeds of modern politics, diplomacy, and nationalism. Travel back to the days of the guillotine as HISTORY delves into the dark undercurrent of instability ushered in by the revolution and some of its most influential figures, including Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Maximilien Robespierre, Jean-Paul Marat, Georges Danton, and Charlotte Corday.

So how do you get your hands on your very own copy of this DVD? There are two options:

  1. Join the A Blog About History group, and next Friday I will pick a random winner to receive the prize! If you’re already a fan, then you’re already in the drawing.
  2. Head over to Amazon.com and purchase a copy.

In the future there will be more DVDs, books, magazine subscriptions, and loads of other cool stuff to give away. I’ll keep you posted!
