Ancient remains found in Indiana

Human remains which may be over 200 years old have been found in Granville, Indiana. Originally they were thought to belong to a missing person who disappeared a couple years ago in the area.

She said the discovery of ancient remains near the bridge and Fort Ouiatenon is nothing out of the ordinary because native American Indians and settlers have roots in that part of the county.

“We found burials when we did the archeological dig and in the past years when they’ve done the digging for some houses,” Atwell said. “This could easily be a family cemetery. There could be 20 or 25 family burials in that area that we haven’t even identified yet.”
