18th-century iron foundry found in England

A rare iron foundry which dates back to the 1700s has been found during a dig in northwestern England. The foundry buildings are shown arranged around three sides of a courtyard with three large roadside buildings and the iron-monger shops to the north. Excavation revealed evidence of two large rooms, one which
