Temple wall found in Ur

A temple wall which dates back to 2500 B.C. has been found in Iraq at the Sumerian city of Ur.

An Italian archeological mission working in Tal Abu Tbeira, Thi-Qar province, unearthed the wall of a temple that dates back to the year 2500 B.C.
near the ancient city of Ur, according to the committee to defend Ur Tuesday.

“The Rome University team that started its works nearly a month ago has achieved a major breakthrough by unearthing the wall of a temple near the archeological city of Ur, 18 km southwest of al-Nasseriya,” the committee chairman Ameer Doushi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
